Happy places

Waterfalls, ruins, Celtic hills, etc.
Find the place that makes you happy.

Happy places are any places that allow you to intensively and knowingly experience the special features of nature and the environment. However, the attitude with which you look for these places is decisive in determining whether positive, negative or no forces are experienced.

Konradsbrunnen and Konradskapelle

A slight incline leads through the woods from the Konradskirche in Oberwang to the Konradsbrunnen with its chapel. According to legend, this spring has its source at the place where Konrad was murdered. Reports from the Middle Ages also suggest that miracles have happened here. Theklakapelle

Forest chapel at Klausbach close to Plomberg-St. Lorenz.
A long time ago, the hermitage custodian rescued a hermit in bad weather in a tree, which bore the image of the holy Thekla. As a thank you, this chapel was constructed in this remarkable place.

Wildmoos - Hochmoor

Within the heart of the green boundaries of the coniferous forest lies the elliptical shaped area of Hochmoor, at the deepest point of the valley between Lackenberg and Mondseeberg.

Hofalm - Almplatzl

On the eastern Oberwang side of Mondseeberg you will find Almplatz’l, the former site of Hofalm (Hochalm), which was part of the monastery or comital landscape.
Today a much-loved destination for nature lovers.

Radstattkapelle

Finishing point of a crossroad from Oberwang across the spine of Mondseeberg. Taking its name from the wheel and Celtic symbol leading people to believe that it was a former place of worship.
